The meaning behind the name

Zebra e Sole design began with two things I have always been drawn to: contrast and color. The name represents much more than that. It captures the way I see design.

Zebra

I have always loved the graphic beauty of the zebra—bold black against white, pattern created through contrast, and no two exactly alike.

There is confidence in a zebra’s stripes, but also balance. The pattern is striking without needing to be perfect or symmetrical.

That idea finds its way into my work again and again. I love mixing the unexpected: a graphic textile with an elegant trim, something refined with something playful, a beautiful fabric with a piece of jewelry that was never intended to become part of a pillow.

Contrast creates interest. The unexpected creates personality.

And individuality matters to me. I don’t want every piece to look the same. I want each one to have its own character—just as the room it eventually becomes part of has its own story.

Sole

Sole is Italian for sun.

For me, the sun represents warmth, energy, optimism and, of course, color.

Color has an extraordinary ability to change how a room feels. Sometimes it is bold and vibrant; sometimes it appears in just a small detail—a ribbon, a lining, a piece of trim, or an unexpected embellishment. It doesn’t have to overwhelm a room to bring it to life.

And the Italian word sole has another significance for me. It creates a quiet connection to my Italian heritage and to my Nonna, a seamstress whose creativity and skill are part of the story that eventually led me here.

Together

Zebra e Sole design is contrast and warmth. Pattern and color. Energy and balance. The unexpected and the familiar.

Those ideas guide the way I choose fabrics, combine textures, add embellishments and make each piece.

I don’t believe a pillow should simply fill a space on a sofa or chair. I believe it can be one of the details that gives a room its personality—almost like jewelry for the room.

And perhaps that is the simplest explanation of the name:

Zebra brings the contrast.
Sole brings the warmth.
Together, they bring the room to life.
